In a medium bowl, combine the crushed tomatoes, garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
Roll out the pizza dough to your desired size and shape, then transfer it to the prepared baking sheet or pizza stone.
Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add your desired toppings.
Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

This recipe makes one large pizza (8 slices). Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, if desired.
