INGREDIENTS 

  • 1/2 Cup softened butter
  • 3/4 Cup sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/4 Cups all_purpose flour
  • 1/2 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 Cups pitted dates, chopped
  • 3/4 Cup chopped almonds, toasted
  • 3/4 Cup coarsely chopped brazil nuts, toasted
  • 1/2 Cup each chopped candied cherries and pine-apple
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Butter and sugar should be creamed until light and fluffy in a large bowl.
  2. Beat in the egg.
  3. Then gradually add it to the creamed mixture and thoroughly mix.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Fruits and nuts are folded in.
  5. Onto greased baking sheets, drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture 2 inches apart.
  6. For 8 to 10 minutes, or until just lightly browned, bake at 375°.
  7. Remove to wire racks.
